Design & Build Process
At FGS, we believe the best projects start with trust, clarity, and a shared vision. Whether it’s a kitchen remodel, full addition, or whole-home renovation, our process facilitates your journey from inspiration to completion with confidence and collaboration.
1. INITIAL CONSULTATION
We begin with an on-site visit. This is where we listen to your ideas, walk through your space, and ask the right questions about your lifestyle, needs, aesthetic preferences, and priorities.
We’ll assess your project’s structure, take rough measurements, and consider potential challenges (electrical, plumbing, structural, etc.). Afterward, we’ll follow up with a design proposal
This consultation is free of charge.
2. DESIGN PROCESS
Phase 1: Schematic Design
We document the existing conditions and explore layout possibilities then produce planview, schematic drawings, and conceptual 3D renderings that will enable visualization of your project. We present the initial renderings in our second consultation and update the schematic design. Following your approval of the design, we’ll provide you with a broad budget estimate to keep your goals and investment aligned.
Phase 2: Design Development
Once the budget and design are aligned, we refine the drawings and help you make material
selections (cabinets, tiles, floors, fixtures, etc.) to reflect your style and priorities.
Phase 3: Construction Drawings
With the design finalized, we prepare permit-ready and construction drawings for our production team. This documentation ensures precision during execution. Additionally, we will provide you with a construction proposal.
Design services typically range from 10–15% of the estimated construction cost.
3. PRE-CONSTRUCTION
With the drawings complete and the contract signed, we move into the pre-construction phase. We secure permits, finalize your selections, and set the schedule.
4. CONSTRUCTION / BUILD
The project commences with your dedicated FGS team working with care, craftsmanship, daily clean-up, and respect for your home. We’ll keep you informed with regular updates throughout the construction process.
5. PROJECT COMPLETION & WARRANTY
Once the work is complete, we perform a thorough site cleanup and final walkthrough. We’re proud to stand by our work with a one-year warranty on labor and materials.
